In 2025, we celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Thanks to the joint efforts of scientists in our country, along with production and the rear, from the first days of the war the front was provided with the necessary means of chemical protection, medical preparations, new materials for weapons and military equipment, fuel, defense equipment and much more. The breakthrough scientific results of the war period formed the basis of many academic and applied research areas after the war, contributed to the restoration of industry and the life of the state. The article contains a brief, far from exhaustive review of the contribution of outstanding chemical scientists to solving the problems of defense and victory over the enemy during the Great Patriotic War.
