Subjects that journal Analytics considers
EDITOR-IN-CHIEF - Vasilisa Borisovna Baranovskaya
Vasilisa Borisovna Baranovskaya, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, President of the Association of Analytical Centers of Russia Analytics, member of the RAS Scientific Councils in Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and High-Purity Chemistry, national representative of Russia in the Analytical Chemistry Division of IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry), national representative of Russia in the European Society for Metrology in Analytical Chemistry (Eurachem) and the International Traceability in Analytical Chemistry Community (CITAC).
In 2002, V.B. Baranovskaya completed her postgraduate studies at the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys (Technological University), in the department of Corresponding Member of the RAS Yu.A. Karpov. From 2002 to 2016, she worked at the State Research and Design Institute of the Rare Metal Industry Giredmet, rising from a research fellow to the head of the quality and analytics department. She is currently the chief research fellow and head of the Center for Shared Use of Physical Methods for the Study of Substances and Materials at the N.S. Kurnakov Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Since 2004, she has taught courses at NUST MISIS on Metrology in Analytical Control, Development of Analytical Control Methods, and Quality Assurance for Chemical Analysis, and supervises dissertations for graduate students.
In 2017, she defended her doctoral dissertation, Synergetic Effect of Combining Methods in the Analytical Chemistry of High-Purity Substances and Recycled Metal-Containing Raw Materials. V.B. Baranovskaya leads a research program focused on the development of a range of instrumental and combined analytical methods applicable to substances and materials based on rare, non-ferrous, and precious metals, high-purity substances, functional materials, and recycled man-made metal-containing raw materials. She focuses on improving and rationally combining complementary analytical methods (optical spectral, X-ray, and mass spectral) to expand the range of components being determined, improve the accuracy of analysis through intermethod comparisons, enhance the metrological characteristics of analytical results by leveraging the individual and combined advantages of combined methods, and obtain, on this basis, the most complete and reliable information on the chemical composition of the analyzed samples, achieving the quality indicators required for their intended practical application. Her publications include over 200 scientific papers, including articles, reports, and inventions (8 patents).
Since 2018, Dr. Sci. (Chem.) V.B. Baranovskaya – editor-in-chief of the journal Analytics.
