A review of the possibilities and limitations of the use of fiber IR spectrometers for the analysis of lubricants in the framework of technological and research tasks is given. Resistance to mechanical impacts and the possibility of implementing portable versions expand the areas of application of IR spectrometry for measurements in real time and detection of lubricant parameters directly on the units.
